Our Mental Health First-Aider course will give you an insight into the roles and responsibilities of a mental health first aider and you will learn about the different types of mental health conditions and how to support someone.

Level 3 Award in Mental Health First Aid in the Workplace

2 days – 12 hours


A mental health first-aider is needed when someone is struggling to cope with an ongoing mental health condition or when they are going through a mental health episode or crisis. Their role is to spot signs of potential problems, assess possible risks to the person and others, listen without judgement, give assistance or encourage the person to seek further help.


Throughout this course you will explore the different types of mental health issues and the signs and symptoms. You will then look at the roles and responsibilities of a mental health first-aider and how to recognise when someone is struggling. The course will end by looking at how to put mental health first aid into action.

Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work

The QA Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work (RQF) qualification is designed for individuals who wish to act as an emergency first aider in their workplace. Upon successful completion of this qualification, candidates will be equipped with the essential skills needed to give safe, prompt and effective first aid in emergency situations.

The Level 3  Award in Emergency Paediatric First Aid qualification provides learners with the emergency first aid skills they require when working in the children's workforce. The aim of the unit within this qualification is for the learner to attain the knowledge and practical skills required to deal with a range of paediatric first aid situations

Level 3 Award in Forestry First Aid (+FAW/EFAW)

The Qualsafe Level 3 Award in Forestry First Aid +F (RQF) qualification is ideal for those who work or intend to work in a forestry, agricultural or remote environment, such as tree surgeons and farmers, and covers a range of injuries and diseases that could occur in these environments, such as Lyme disease and catastrophic bleeding.  Agriculture, forestry and the fishing industries have a fatally rate 21 times higher than other industries, so this course is designed to accompany a regulated First Aid at Work or Emergency First Aid at Work qualification.

FIRE TRAINING

Fire Warden

The Qualsafe Level 1 Award in Fire Safety Awareness (RQF) is a regulated and nationally recognised qualification designed for those who want an understanding of fire safety in the workplace.  Candidates will learn basic fire safety principles in order to ensure they are keeping themselves and others in the workplace safe at all times. They will also learn what to do in the event of an emergency and the simple measures that can be taken to control the risk of fires.

Fire Warden

The Qualsafe Level 2 Award in Fire Safety (RQF) is a regulated and nationally recognised qualification that has been specifically designed for anyone who has a specific responsibility for fire safety in the workplace, such as designated fire wardens/fire marshals.  Candidates will gain an understanding of fire safety management at work and the specific roles and responsibilities related to fire safety in the workplace.

CITIZENAID

Level 2 Award in CitizenAid

Qualsafe Level 2 Award in citizenAID (RQF) has been specifically developed to help members of the public learn life-saving skills for use in extreme situations such as how to react in the event of a shooting, stabbing or bomb attack.


This regulated qualification is designed to teach people how to react safely, prioritise the injured and give first aid to victims in the event of a multiple casualty incident or in the aftermath of a terrorist attack


Aimed for use within large public event spaces such as sports/music stadiums, shopping centres, travel hubs and festivals.

Level 2 Award in CitizenAid

4 hours


Learning Outcomes:

  • Determining the appropriate actions to take in the following events, using the citizenAID App or pocket guide:
  •  Knife attacker or active shooter 
  • Exploded bomb
  • Unattended and suspicious item
  • Acid and vehicle attacks 
  • Summoning the emergency services and effective handover

MANUAL HANDLING

Level 2 Award in Principles of Manual Handling

The Qualsafe Level 2 Award in Principles of Manual Handling (RQF) is a regulated and nationally recognised qualification, designed to cover the basic principles of manual handling.  The theory-based qualification is ideal for all employees as it provides candidates with an awareness of safe manual handling practices and the risks of unsafe manual handling.   Incorrect manual handling is one of the most common causes of injury at work so this course is an ideal way to reduce the risk of workplace manual handling injuries.


Please note that this qualification does not include practical sessions. Those requiring practical training should undertake the Qualsafe Level 2 Award in Safe Moving and Handling (RQF).

Level 2 Award in Safe Moving and Handling

The Qualsafe Level 2 Award in Safe Moving and Handling (RQF) is a regulated and nationally recognised qualification designed for those who work, or intend to work, in a role that involves manual handling. It is the perfect course for those working in a variety of environments including warehouses and shops.

The law states that employers have a legal responsibility to provide adequate training for those who perform manual handling tasks in their day-to-day role. 

 Successful candidates will learn the key principles of manual handling and how to apply these to their workplace. They will also practise a wide range of techniques, ensuring that they leave the course confident and proficient in moving and handling.
